Because every rails dev needs to build at least 1 social network, right?
This site was an expiriment to see how building a separate frontend in angular would turn out. I used gulp to build the angular app into rail's public folder, although I probably would not do that again to decrease coupling of the two pieces.
The main takeaway for me was rolling my own token auth, which is probably not very secure, but an interesting experiment to see how all of the pieces fit together.
My main issue with building an app like this is the large amount of boilerplate it takes to get started with the frontend architecture, assets, and testing. If I was doing this again, I would probably try it with ember since the cli and conventions mean less work for me to get started.
